Frequently Asked Questions

About My Services

What exactly does a Nurse Navigator do?

A Nurse Navigator serves as your personal guide through the healthcare system. I help coordinate your care between different providers, explain medical terminology and treatment options, assist with appointment scheduling, and advocate for your needs. Think of me as your healthcare GPS – helping you find the most efficient and effective path to meet your health goals.

How is a Nurse Health Coach different from my regular healthcare providers?

While your doctors and specialists focus on specific medical treatments, I focus on the big picture of your healthcare journey. I work alongside your existing healthcare team to help you understand and coordinate your care, make informed decisions, and implement lifestyle changes that support your overall health goals.

Can you help me if I have multiple health conditions?

Yes! Managing multiple health conditions is one of the main reasons people seek my services. I help you coordinate between different specialists, understand how various conditions and treatments interact, and develop strategies to manage your overall health effectively.

Working Together

How do we get started?

We begin with a complimentary consultation to discuss your needs and how I can help. If we decide to work together, we'll create a personalized plan that outlines your goals and the specific ways I'll support you in achieving them.

Do you work with my existing healthcare providers?

Absolutely! I collaborate with your existing healthcare team while serving as your advocate and coordinator. I help facilitate communication between providers and ensure you understand all aspects of your care plan.

How often will we meet?

The frequency of our meetings depends on your specific needs and goals. Some clients meet weekly during intensive periods of care coordination, while others prefer monthly check-ins. We'll determine the best schedule together based on your situation.

End-of-Life Care Support

How do you help with end-of-life planning?

I provide compassionate guidance through the process of creating advance directives, discussing care preferences with family members, and coordinating with palliative or hospice care services when needed. My role is to ensure your wishes are clearly documented and honored while supporting both you and your family.

When should I start thinking about end-of-life planning?

It's never too early to start planning. Having these conversations and making decisions while you're healthy can provide peace of mind and make things easier for your loved ones in the future.

Practical Matters

What areas do you serve?

Service costs vary depending on the level of support needed. During our complimentary consultation, we'll discuss your specific needs and I'll provide a clear outline of associated costs, including:

  • Regular consultation fees

  • Any additional services you may need

What are your fees for medical appointment accompaniment?

There is an additional fee for in-person accompaniment to medical appointments. This service includes:

  • Meeting you at the medical facility
  • Attending the appointment with you
  • Taking notes and asking clarifying questions
